You are busy, always doing more and more, with the belief that if you do enough you’ll finally feel more fulfilled and happy.
You spend your week thinking about the weekend, and your weekends thinking about your next vacation or next big project. You feel exhausted and disconnected from yourself and others, constantly running through life. You are looking for more purpose and meaning and searching externally for the answers. Slowing down is not something you are very good at, so you don’t practice it regularly. You’ve heard meditation can help, but have no idea how or where to start.

You are tired, anxious, and burnt out; adding one more thing to your to-do list seems absolutely overwhelming and impossible. Meditation seems like a nice idea, and maybe you’ll try it someday, but today is not the day. You just have too much to do, so much that it feels like some days you don’t even have time to take a deep breath.

We live in a world that demands so much from us. Not only have we not been taught to slow down, we have been discouraged from doing so. So we don’t. The answers to your questions are not external, they are internal.
Wisdom and our deepest knowing are things that come from inside of us. On our own however, it can be very difficult to slow down and to connect with ourselves, as we dont have much practice with either. Feeling safe enough to sit with ourselves in meditation can also feel very difficult, even impossible.

Group mindfulness meditation practice provides the steps, skills, and safe environment we need in order to connect with ourselves, enabling us to tap into our wisdom. Practicing mindfulness meditation teaches us how to show up and be more active participants in our own lives.

What if I have never meditated before?
You do not need any prior meditation experience to join a group. Groups are designed so that meditation will benefit any level of experience, from beginner to advanced practitioner.
Is group meditation the same as group therapy?
No, group meditation is designed to be more of a classroom experience than a therapeutic group experience. Each group class consists of a talk and a guided meditation. There is time for questions and answers at the end of each class. This time will be dedicated to the process of your meditation and not specific personal questions. If you are looking for a more personalized and therapeutic experience, though, we can meet individually at any time as well!
Where do your mindfulness meditation groups meet and how often?
Groups are all held virtually on Zoom in order to make mindfulness meditation as accessible as possible to as many people as possible. Mindfulness meditation courses are all offered in a 4-part series and take place over 4 consecutive weekly classes.
